Sue Crismon
General Counsel
Sue Crismon is General Counsel at UWC PEG. Prior to joining our team, she was the Executive Director of the Legal Services Innovation Office of the Utah Supreme Court, tasked with innovating legal services to increase access and quality. In 2021, Sue left the Innovation Office to launch her own legal tech company, Empowered Justice. She also opened a solo practice providing legal services to start-up businesses including formation, investment, and employment assistance.
Sue has also been a trial attorney at Salt Lake Legal Defender Association and the Director of Pro Bono Programs at Utah Legal Services where she worked on various access to justice projects and policy initiatives. Sue graduated from Weber State University with a degree in criminal justice and received her law degree from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts, where she interned with the Youth Advocacy Project in Boston, MA and the Legal Resources Centre in Grahamstown, South Africa.
Sue is a member of the Pro Bono Commission, SLC Eviction Reduction Committee, and the Watkiss-Sutherland II Inn of Court. She has presented at various conferences including the ABA/NALDA Equal Justice Conference and has received the 2012 Committee of the Year Award, the 2012 Attorney Service Award, and the 2016 Young Lawyer of the Year Award.
